Please Meet Mistletoe (the bear). I love to read about old customs.
This one about mistletoe is quite interesting.
Mistletoe is traditionally hung at Christmas for decoration, and of course, for kissing under. The tradition of kissing under the mistletoe was once a part of wedding ceremonies. Mistletoe etiquette can vary, but the general custom is that everyone walking under it should be kissed by the nearest person to them at the time. An Old custom was that a man should pluck a berry from the sprig once he has kissed the woman under the mistletoe - once all of the berries have been plucked, the opportunity is over.
Do you hang mistletoe at Christmas?
Thank you for visiting
